Punjab Completes Data Collection on Schools Lacking Basic Facilities
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has publicized
that the provincial government has successfully completed the compiling of data
on schools that lack vital facilities and require additional classrooms.
According to the minister, all missing infrastructure in
public schools will soon be provided, in line with the vision of Chief Minister
Maryam Nawaz. In his official declaration, Rana Sikandar Hayat confirmed that
detailed information on extra classrooms and missing amenities across Punjab’s
schools has been gathered.
He urged school heads and teachers to promptly report any
institutions still deprived of necessary facilities — such as classrooms, clean
drinking water, boundary walls, or toilet blocks — to the Education Helpline
(0316-0261408).
Reaffirming the government’s resolve, he said, “As announced
by Madam Chief Minister, we will ensure that 100 percent of missing facilities
are provided in all schools across Punjab, Inshallah.”
The School Education Department has already initiated
improvement work in identified schools. The initiative is aimed at creating a
safe, inclusive, and conducive learning environment for students, especially in
rural and underdeveloped areas of the province.
11th Class New Syllabus
The Punjab government has proclaimed significant reforms in
the province’s educational curriculum. According to reliable sources, after
completing the revision of the ninth-grade syllabus, authorities are now
preparing to review the syllabus for the eleventh grade as well.
This decision comes in response to extensive complaints and
suggestions from both students and teachers. Earlier this year, a new syllabus
was introduced for classes nine and eleven; however, the eleventh-grade
curriculum was found to be overloaded with content and contained several
errors, prompting the need for further revision.
Sources revealed that the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook
Board (PCTB) has established special committees to improve and reduce the
content. Initial recommendations for the reduction of the ninth-grade syllabus
have already been completed, and an official notification regarding the revised
syllabus is expected to be issued in the first week of November.

Relief Announced for MDCAT Applicants
Out-of-Syllabus Issue in MDCAT Resolved: Federal Health
Minister Mustafa Kamal
Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has proclaimed that the
long-standing problem of out-of-syllabus questions in the Medical and Dental
College Admission Test (MDCAT) has finally been fixed — removing a major hindrance
for aspiring medical students across Pakistan.
Speaking to the media, the minister said that after thorough discussions
with vice chancellors from all four provinces, a uniform question paper has
been finalized for the national entrance exam.
He clarified that a question bank of 3,000 questions has been
developed, from which each province will receive three separate question papers
and can choose any one for the test. “The controversy over out-of-syllabus
questions has now ended,” Kamal stated. “This measure will ensure transparency,
fairness, and equal opportunity for all candidates.”
The minister further clarified that the Pakistan Medical and
Dental Council (PMDC) is responsible for preparing the syllabus and question
bank, while provincial authorities will be held accountable in case of any paper
leaks.
According to official data, the MDCAT 2025 will be held on October
26, with 140,125 candidates registered to appear. A total of 35 examination
centers have been established across Pakistan, along with one international
center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
