United Nations has Accepted Saraiki
Language as an International Language
Saraiki is spoken in the South Punjab
of Pakistan
Total speakers of Saraiki Language are 15,020,000(1975). It is
spoken in the Southern Punjab, Pakistan. It is a dialect of Punjabi Language.
It is appreciated due to its fluency and sweetness. Much literature has been
produced in this language. It is also spoken in some areas of India. One will
meet Saraiki speakers even in United Kingdom.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is a
document accepted by United Nations General Assembly which ensures freedom of
expressions and thoughts as well as the freedom of all human beings. This
document is deemed important for its universal language which makes no
difference between any cultural and political system. The UDHR has recognized Saraiki
Language as an international language.
Saraiki is an Indo-Aryan Language which is spoken in the
South of Province Punjab. Around 20 million people speak Saraiki language.
Khwaja Ghulam Farid (1841-1901) is major mystic poet of Saraiki Language. Other
famous Saraiki poets are Shakir Shuja Abadi,Ahmed Khan Tariq,Lutf Ali, Sachal
Sarmast and Ashu Lal Faqir
