Punjab School Education Department Bans Smartphone, Junk Food & Energy Drinks in Private Schools

The School Education Department (SED) in Punjab has imposed a ban on the use of mobile phones, as well as the consumption of junk food and energy drinks, within private schools throughout the province.

The department has instructed private schools to strictly adhere to these new regulations and warned that stringent action will be taken against those who fail to comply.

To ensure compliance, the SED has established monitoring teams that will carry out surprise inspections at private schools.

This move comes following a recent incident where a video of a female student being violently attacked by her classmates at a private school in Lahore went viral on social media, inciting widespread outrage.

In response, four female students have been charged, but the attackers have been granted pre-arrest bail by the Lahore High Court.
